Sam's Word of the Week - Monday 30th May, 2005

Fox (n)

Related to the dog, these animals are extremely unpopular, known to wreak havoc around farms and neighbourhood shopping centres. Just last week foxes ranked sixteenth on Who Weekly’s list of “The World’s Most Annoying Pests”, behind flies, cockroaches and Ray Martin. Controversy has surrounded the children’s classic “Fox in Socks” by Dr Seuss, recently taken out of the children’s section in bookstores worldwide, due to concerned parents questioning if the fox was wearing anything else. Foxes cunningly use turnip chips as bait to attract sheep, before pouncing and eating the sheep themselves.

Well... I don't like foxes, but the word itself is alright... What would it score in scrabble??
I am refusing to call the orange fish Fox... the white & orange one has been called Chalk though (just thought I might let you know that) BUT then today, I got another fish (a Sucking Catfish [so I don't have to clean the tank as often]) and it also needs a name...

Anyway... This is supposed to be about foxes not fish...

And I don't know that there is really a whole lot that I can say about fox... Only that the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.. But then again, I expected that you would already know that...
